| Boredom seemed to be a curse that flowed freely through the halls of the musty castle, and Sibes could not escape its tendrils. The curriculum was dull at best and the lack of potential death during lessons was utterly unappetizing. Sibes found that she much preferred the Dark Arts of Durmstrang to the happy-go-lucky attitude of Hogwarts, and felt she could do most of the homework here without ever having to set foot in the actual lessons. Thus, she had decided to skip both history and transfiguration, knowing she’d sleep through the ghost’s lecture anyway and she could pass NEWT level transfiguration as of two years ago.
So it was that she found herself in the westward tower, frightening the roosting owls all into the lighter areas as she stole her way into the darkest recess. She sank easily to the floor after casting a quick cleaning charm to clear away the owl dung that littered it. Tucking her feet under her body, the Russian kneeled on the floor, lips curling into a predatory grin as she soundlessly stretched her arms out before her, slinking her back in a feline manner and skimming her emerald gaze about the stone room.
Her school uniform felt oddly constricting and awkward in this position, but she ignored it, using a claw to pop three buttons and free the majority of her chest from the form-fitting blouse, still remaining ever silent. Leaning forward, she locked her eyes on a sudden movement and watched with hunger in her gaze as a small rodent scurried near her. She grinned, licking her lips as she snatched her hand out and locked her claws around the mouse, its squeal filling the room as she inhaled the coppery scent that slowly filled the air.
The little creature panicked in her grasp, causing her nails to dig in ever deeper and its ruby blood to run clearer over her talons. She growled deep in her throat as another scent mingled with that of blood. ”Who dares interrupt my solitude?” she hissed, her eyes ever on the prey that still feebly struggled in her grasp.

| Orion was easily a good student. It was engrained in him to live up to high expectations and he did so with pride. But the sixth year rarely needed to actually pay attention in class and especially not in History of Magic, a lesson that continuously bordered on not worth the time to attend. But he did. For the first ten minutes or so. After that, it was easier than it should be to sneak out with the ghost professor unawares to it.
It was a routine that Orion had been in the habit of for a while now, considering he could learn more about goblin wars and magic's history from the library on his own than in that classroom from that ghost. The entire class was a mockery of the teaching profession in his eyes, and he felt he were simply helping with that mockery by smiling the lesson every day and still passing it with flying colors.
So Orion had taken to spending his time in the one place that was the last place professors would search for ditching students. The owlery. It hadn't taken the teen long to figure out that was the one place that professor's wouldn't expect a student to spend their time when they were supposed to be in class, and so he took the steps up two at a time, his long legs making it an easy feat for him as he tossed an apple in the air, catching it leisurely when it made it's way back down.
He reached the owlery quick enough, and though the smell was not his bed of roses, it was easily dealt with when compared to the boring monotone that was professor Binn's voice, and Orion tosses the green apple back forth between his hands as he made his way to the darker area of the bird area. Only his quick gaze alerted him to the female kneeling in the same spot he tended to laze on, but that was the least...interesting thing about her appearance, because the obvious cleavage or the struggling mouse in her grip could take first place there. Or perhaps the claw-like nails. Or the way she didn't seem to mind the blood now seeping over her dainty fingers. That too could have easily been the most interesting thing about her.
Orion showed no signs of being surprised, and didn't deem her interesting enough even with the mouse and blood and claws to even be curious. To his blue eyes she was merely disgusting, so instead he leaned against the pillar nearest him casually, blue eyes never leaving the form he belatedly deemed bony. The teen's initial response was to chuckle at her obvious dislike of her current company. As if he lived to serve someone else's comfort. As it so often did, his mouth formed a mocking smile of apology.
"My apologies. I had no idea this place was yours to seek solitude. I must have missed that memo on my last one hundred visits." His tone dripped with sarcasm and his blue eyes laughed at her as he brought the apple in his hand to his mouth, his gleaming white teeth easily puncturing it in a bite while his mocking smile stayed in place. Nothing about him was at all distressed or alarmed or even remotely worried at her appearance or hostility. But Orion was no fool, and he was just as ready for fight as if he were in a defensive crouch. |

| Male scent filled the air along with the sweet tinge of apple and Sibes felt her stomach lurch in hunger. How long had it been since she’d eaten? In truth, she’d lost track. It really would be better if she’d eat small amounts more regularly, but the very thought of eating, especially in front of people, made her sick to her stomach. She tossed the dying mouse aside and leaned forward on her hands and knees, snarling at the obnoxious boy.
”Weren’t you aware that you were simply holding the space for me until I arrived?” she hissed. Her eyes sparkled in a predatory way and she acted in a manner that was hardly human. In this position her lack of buttons would mean her chest was quite exposed, and the wall would surely have quite the view of her ass, but propriety had never exactly concerned the Russian.
It was odd to her that the boy seemed so… unconcerned by her. He didn’t seem surprised at all with her state of being or her obvious anger issues. This was odd. ”You seem rather daft, in all honesty.” Sibes was sure this would piss the boy off, but then maybe he’d drop the sarcastic mask and she’d see a bit of the real person that lie beneath it. She was sure there was more to him than the snarky fake apologies and the haughty attitude. She was sure it was just as bad, whatever it was, but it was more honest. And that was what she wanted to know it each person, really. Their honest selves. That’s what animals showed at all times, after all.
”So, shouldn’t you be in class or something?” she growled, slender brow raised in an accusatory manner. Never mind the fact that she should also be in class. No, that didn’t matter. All that mattered was getting under this guy’s skin to get some honest reaction and an idea of just who he was.

| "Touché." Orion replied, tipping his head a fraction in acknowledgement of her words. Clever. Even if beastly. His blue eyes never lost their laughing sparkle however, as he very obviously dropped his gaze to her chest at the obvious cleavage there before looking back into her emerald green ones unflinchingly. There were no signs of lust or want in his face, body or eyes. Just from this brief meeting the sixth year already considered this girl beneath him in the hierarchy of life. There was also no fear, no caution, on his part. Orion was what one might consider an alpha male. He was meant to be feared, not to fear others.
He continued to relax against the pillar casually, as if he had not a care in the world. Her anger served but one purpose, and that was to amuse him. The teen was nothing more than disgusted by her animalistic nature, but it was entertaining to him to see someone act so lowly. "Shouldn't you?" He answered her question with his own, pointedly calling her out on her own hypocrisy with a sardonic smirk. "If you're practicing for porn I would say you've got the position down well enough. I'm sure somewhere out there is a bloke with a fetish for beasts."
His tone was almost friendly, but the undercurrent portrayed the cruel intentions of his words as did his mocking smile that wasn't quite concealed behind the apple as he took another bite of it. The teen lounged so calmly you would think he had not noticed her already angry demeanor and claws that could gouge his eyes out. But Orion was neither an idiot or defenseless, and he had more than sarcasm and wit in his arsenal. |

| Emerald eyes rolled in her head at the boy’s comment about her own skipping of class, but then she quickly turned more toward angry as he called her some kind of skank. It only bothered her a bit, however, as she had already decided that this boy was a fool. After a rather feral growl, she actually smiled at the boy and slunk further toward him, her incisors growing beneath her lips.
”That would require the beast to be interested in… blokes, as you call them,” she said simply. Her grin widened and she no longer hid her fangs with her lips. Let the male try and figure out what was wrong with her. She was pretty sure she’d already heard some rumors about her being a vampire anyway. Perhaps she should play that one up. It would be rather fun to have the masses think her a monster.
The tiger within was distracted by her growling stomach as the sweet scent of apple continued to fill the air. It was making it hard to keep the bemused grin on her face, and she found herself getting lightheaded. Perhaps it had been a bit too long since she’d forced herself to suck it up and actually eat something… Maybe, instead of hiding in the owlery and torturing animals, the Russian should have found a snack of sorts and actually eaten in privacy where she wouldn’t have some panic attack over the very action.
Alas, she did no such thing, and she was left with her vision slowly darkening from the outside in. ”Oh, yob,” she swore in a hiss of Russian as her eyes rolled back and she fell flat on her face. Sibes was completely unconscious and at the mercy of another Slytherin, who she’d just significantly pissed off. This was going to be wonderful.

| Orion didn't move an inch as the female stalked towards him, keeping his look of disinterest except for the one finely arched brow that lifted at her animal-like growl. The teen would be lying to himself if he said the fangs didn't provoke the idea of caution in him. But Orion was above showing such things even if he did feel them, so he continued to look vaguely interested in the promiscuous girl, his position just as casual as if she weren't coming towards him with those elongated fangs and claws that could most likely kill a person should they underestimate her. Orion would not be one such idiot and he hoped she would return the favor by not underestimating him. Then again, he didn't much mind if she did. It could be interesting to see what came of that.
It was clear that he was supposed to be wary of her, and in a way he was, but the young wizard didn't look at all concerned or uncomfortable. In fact, he returned her predatory smile with smirk and laughing blue eyes. "You are mistaken. The beast does not need to be interested. Beasts are made for men to tame." His eyes sparkled in a cruel manner. "Or..disposed of." The boy's smirk grew and widened into a mocking grin. It was only then, as Orion took a final bite of his apple, tossing the core over his shoulder unvaryingly, that he noticed the witch before him looked a little pale. Which might not have been cause for concern since she was rather fair skinned, until she feinted dead in front of him.
"Bloody hell." He grumbled, glaring at the fallen girl as if she had decided to feint versus it just happening. "Hey." He called, nudging the body on the floor with his foot none too softly. She didn't wake, not that he had really expected her too. Maybe an auguamenti to the face would do the trick? The teen pulled his wand out, seriously about to douse the girl with water. It could work, and if not then at least her shirt would be see through and make the situation a little more worth the trouble. At the last second he paused however, thinking it might be best to take her to the hospital wing, since obviously there had to be a reason for her feinting. Sighing as if he had been kept from doing something he had been looking forward to, Orion gave her form a withering glare and a sneer for good measure as he easily levitated her body and began making his way to the hospital wing. He amused himself with making sure as much of her body was exposed as possible in his way, a devious smirk settling onto his lips. |
