| Lillian had just finished her Charms homework, something she wasn't practically happy doing, but had to do nonetheless, and was now free to do as she pleased. The past few weeks had been interesting, she had to admit, and even if she was close to getting in trouble with her House's Prefects, she decided that it was worth it, because Harry Potter was not an ordinary boy, and his kisses weren't either.
Then, she had stumbled upon him again, without really meaning to. But from what it seemed, she was pushed towards him almost always. She didn't know how she managed to be at the right place, the right time, but this was getting better and better. Time did work magic, it seemed.
Thinking all these, the little blonde decided to take a walk around the Dungeons, not really for a specific reason. Walking around was what she did the last time, yet, she had won a couple of kisses, so who said that she wouldn't stand lucky again? She loosened her tie a little as she cracked her neck, relaxing, and leaning against the wall for a while, listening carefully to see if anyone is around. |

| For the first time in what felt like the entire school year Harry didn’t have something that he should definitely be doing in between dinner and curfew. Sure, he had work that was due later in the week that he could knock out ahead of time, but anyone who knew him knew that there was no way that would ever happen. Sure, the quidditch team needed work and planning, but in certain very loud circles that was not an effective use of his time, and he’d rather leave most of that stuff to his assistant captain anyway. Sure, he also had a private war to plan for, but since his best mates didn’t know too much about that yet it didn’t make a very good excuse.
The combination of all of those things was that Harry was supposedly finally making good on his promise to talk to Snape. He had been dreading this since shortly after he agreed to do it, which was the really reason it hadn’t been done yet. As a result, he had been escorted as far as the dungeons before his conspirators went off to do whatever they had on the agenda for the evening, probably either some Prefect thing or fixing Ron’s homework since he wasn’t wanted around for it.
He took two steps towards Snape’s office and immediately thought better of the entire thing. Instead, he wandered through the dungeons aimlessly, mind on everything that was going on, especially how he was going to keep the Headmaster from sneakily murdering Skyler and leaving a Dark Mark stuffed in her mouth or something.
As a result, he was completely unaware of where he was until he realized that he was both lost and not alone. He seemed to have a habit of doing this in Snake territory this year, and it was going to get him in more trouble than he cared to think about before long. Thankfully, this was not the unlucky time, as it was a familiar face he was in some random dungeon with.
“Hey Vinter,” he said, giving the blonde a smile that said he was truly happy to see her. “How have you been?” |

| Lillian was lost, something she usually liked, since lost meant she didn't have to think of what might happen, and of course, not think of all the things she was hearing every day. Rumours, accusations... she was sick of being called 'not a true snake'. The fact that she was different from them didn't make her any less of a snake, but they were too dumb to understand, and sometimes it just pained her. She hid it every single time, successfully, but it always hurt deep inside.
And she had proof that snakes and lions could get along after all. The Weasley boy was bad, and as long as she didn't try anything funny, he learned to keep calm and actually discuss with her, which meant that there didn't have to be a war because two people were just talking. As for Harry, the kiss had just... happened. Though she certainly hadn't expected to like it, or get him stuck in her head after that. She wasn't a girl of love, but, he was waking feelings she didn't knew she had, and would be better hidden, for her own good. But when had she followed any rules to follow them now?
“Hey Vinter,”
A voice shook her out of her trance, making her look up a little straddled, her ice blue eyes surprised. Soon, she calmed down once she saw who it was, smiling softly and leaning against the wall once again. Another person she could actually have a conversation with. From what it seemed, only lions were civil enough to talk to her. And a few Hufflepuffs, for that matter. Though her own house was too stuck up, something she used to be too, until she had to face the truth. The fact that she couldn't really be mean.
“How have you been?”
Deciding to mess a little with him, and see where it got her, she pushed herself off the wall with a small smirk and walked over to him, pulling her hair to one side and cocking her head to the side as she stared at the boy-who-lived. "Bored, thinking about you, you know, nothing interesting." She kept her gaze locked with his, the smirk never leaving her lips. |

| Apparently the Slytherin had been as out of it as Harry, since his words seemed to startle her for a little bit. She recovered well enough, though, and soon made her way over to Harry. So far so good. Then she opened her mouth and started talking, and Harry went from pleased about who he had run into to confused about the next weird thing in his life that he had no way to deal with.
He wasn’t exactly sure what Vinter was trying to play at, sounding so casual while mentioning thinking about him all the time, but Harry didn’t like it. He was under the impression that they had kissed on accident more than anything else, and didn’t like to think that there might have been something more behind it the entire time. If none of what the girl had said to Skyler and Draco had been an act, she might be a special kind of crazy.
“Whoa there,” he said, putting his hands out in front of him, partially for effect and partially so she couldn’t kiss him again while he was still in the middle of talking. “Why exactly have you been spending your time thinking about me?” Maybe it was a joke or a misunderstanding. Or maybe she had ruined her life by snogging a Gryffindor where Malfoy could see and she wanted to kill him. Harry knew that he was grasping at straws, but he really wanted their to be a solution other than her being into him. He didn’t know if he would be able to manage that on top of everything else that was happening lately. |

| Lillian didn't really want to make him feel uncomfortable. She knew there was nothing going on between them. A kiss was just a kiss, and it meant nothing at all. It was just a way for both of them to get on Malfoy's nerves, and just have some fun before they walked away, and never talked to each other again. Though Lillian wasn't really disturbed by the idea of having him as a friend. A friend and nothing more.
But his reaction did hurt her a little. She didn't expect him to actually say he was in love with her or something, but it did make her feel bad. Though she did not let this show. Her smiled stayed on her lips, and she blinked a couple of times, a small laugh escaping her lips. The best way to hide her hurt was to laugh with it. It's not like he would actually care enough to see what she really felt, and she wasn't sure if she wanted him to either.
"Relax, Potter. I am just messing with you. Merlin, get some sense of humour here!" Shaking her head, she backed away, leaning against the wall once again and shrugging. Maybe being friends wasn't a smart thing either. But she hadn't made any right choices lately in her life, so another mistake wouldn't really hurt. "What is a Lion doing right here? Came to look for something? Or are you waiting for someone?"
The thought of him waiting for someone else, the night she stumbled upon him had crossed her mind more than once. But it didn't matter. At least not anymore, according to her. Nothing actually happened between them, and no one would know. |

| Oh, good. It was just a joke. It hadn’t really seemed that way to Harry, but then he didn’t know the Slytherin very well. Maybe she was just really bad at humor and if he said anything she would feel bad. He decided it would be best to let it go and not risk a fight or something in what was mostly enemy territory.
That left him to move forward and ignore what she had said or mess with her back. Usually he would pick the second choice, but since he had no idea how the blonde’s sense of humor ran, it seemed safer to just move on and answer her question.
“I’m supposed to be going to ask Professor Snape…something.” He had paused and pulled up lamely, realizing he was about to reveal far too much information to someone he didn’t know at all. As far as he was sure, she could be an enemy just as easily as she could be a friend. “Anyway, I don’t really like talking to Professor Snape, so I was avoiding it for as long as possible.”
Harry paused to consider the girl for a moment. “What about you? You don’t really seem like you’re just out for an evening stroll. What were you up to before I stumbled along?” |

| The girl wasn't interested in the boy's personal life, to tell the truth, but since he was polite enough to talk to her, and actually have a civil conversation with her, without calling her a bloody snake, or any other stereotype she was usually going by, she could, at least, be polite in return, and talk to him like a friend would.
“I’m supposed to be going to ask Professor Snape…something.”
Lillian raised an eyebrow, not really believing him, but shrugging anyway. Potter and Snape weren't something you would hear everyday, but only Merlin knows what that boy was up to again, and Lillian was not really interested in getting in trouble with him again. Malfoy had let her get away with it once, since Riddle was with him, but he would not do it a second time, she was sure, and Lillian knew better than to play with fire.
“Anyway, I don’t really like talking to Professor Snape, so I was avoiding it for as long as possible.”
Well that sounds more like it, the girl thought and nodded at him. If she were he, she would do the same. Avoid him as long as possible, until she actually stumbled upon him, and had no choice but to talk to him. But if she were he, she would be the Boy-who-lived, surrounded by problems and adventures she didn't really want to know.
“What about you? You don’t really seem like you’re just out for an evening stroll. What were you up to before I stumbled along?”
Lillian laughed softly and shrugged her shoulders, pulling her hair to one side and started braiding it, while she talked to the boy. "I am actually done with homework, Harry, and staying the Common Room isn't fun, so I decided to just wander around aimlessly. Don't have much to do anyway." |

| Harry was quite confused with basically every single thing in the short statement Vinter had made. He didn’t remember a single time in his five years plus that he was caught up on homework unless they were completely done with assignments for the year. He also could only think of a few times when he didn’t feel like the Gryffindor common room was a home and a family to him, and in those cases pretty much the whole castle either hated him or thought he was crazy. He felt fairly certain that he would have some idea if the entire castle had a reason to hate Vinter.
He also couldn’t think of a single time at Hogwarts where he had had not much to do or had the time and desire to wander around aimlessly. He was slowly coming to the conclusion that there was something wrong with the pretty blonde, and that rather than being glad when she had snogged him to keep him from getting in trouble with Malfoy, Harry should have been nervous about her coming into his life.
Still, he didn’t really know anything about her and he was still committed to not judge people before he got to know them. That seemed to be especially true of Slytherins, because of how unfairly he had judged the ones he didn’t know in the past, based on the few that he interacted with on a regular basis. That meant he needed to find out more about Vinter before he knew what to think of her.
“So, do you want to talk about why you don’t like your common room?” he asked her awkwardly. |

| The fact that the girl was 'opening up' to him, wasn't because she was practically interested in getting to know him, or being his friend. That kiss they had shared that night, wasn't just that simple. She had felt that spark and she was sure he had felt it too. And being the little Princess she was, she had to claim what she considered hers. And who could really blame her?
Slytherin or not, everyone wanted to be a part of Potter's life. Being the Boy-who-lived was something no one wanted to miss. Not to mention that he was quite the charming boy. But of course, what Lillian, and half the school, if not all of it, cared about the most was how powerful he really was. Standing by his side meant much more to people that it should. And that was simply because they were part of his life. Imagine what it would mean if you were that one, specific part of his life. What he cared about the most. What he loved.
But the boy seemed to need some persuasion, and that was Lillian's job for the day. Get him to understand how much he really wanted her. She knew most guys fought the slight sparks they were feeling after a quick touch, or a glance. Not to mention a kiss, since that was the case, this time. Lillian was sure Potter felt something, but he needed something to push that to the surface. The spoiled Princess always got what she wanted, and this time would be no different.
“So, do you want to talk about why you don’t like your common room?”
The girl didn't allow anything to change her calm face. She couldn't give away any plans she was making, or her dark thoughts about the boy. These things weren't simple, and needed work, so keeping them hidden was the smartest thing to do. Getting him to trust her was what mattered now. "Sit with me? We can talk about it, I don't mind." |
